What’s the 52 Week Speaking Challenge?
At the beginning of 2012, I set out to do a 52 Week Speaking Challenge. It was a challenge I set for myself to speak at least once per week for all 52 weeks of 2012.
I decided to do this because I wanted to accomplish a few things. First, I want to become the best speaker I can. I’ve been speaking for over 9 years now but there’s always a new word or technique I learn every day and as a professional speaker, I want to be able to give the best to my audiences. I’m also beyond passionate about marketing, communication and leadership.
I also wanted to be able to get out there and share what I know with people. Finally, I was working on completing both an HPL (High Performance Leadership project) with Toastmasters to earn my 3rd DTM (Distinguished Toastmaster) designation and also my membership to NSA (National Speakers Association). Both of which were accomplished by the end of 2012.
It was a busy year full of speeches across multiple cities and states to many companies, associations, conferences and events. I even emceed the grand opening of a yoga studio.
What about 2013?
While I’m not on the 52 Week Speaking Challenge any more, I’m booked to speak to many new organizations and events this year. If you’re interested in booking me to speak, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
